We're Matt & Faye. We thought we would tell you a bit about ourselves and Barossa Kayak Hire. We're originally from the UK and have travelled extensively through Europe, Central America and interstate. Travelling with young kids has shown us the importance of having suitable family friendly activities to do during the holidays.

We are a family owned and operated business based in Williamstown, which is known as the southern gateway to the Barossa wine region in South Australia. The area around Williamstown has several reservoirs nearby including the Warren, South Para and Barossa reservoirs. The Warren and South Para reservoirs are now open for kayaking and fishing (permit required).

​

At Barossa Kayak Hire we want you to feel confident and safe on the water, especially if you have never kayaked before. It is a great activity to get involved in and you don't need any previous experience. So if you are a complete novice don't worry. Rest assured we'll provide all the equipment and local knowledge you will need to get started - making your hire a relaxing and enjoyable experience on the tranquil reservoir waters.

The reservoirs and forested areas support an abundance of Australian wildlife and plant life. We strongly believe in preserving this environment and we ensure that our day to day business does not have adverse impacts on the flora, fauna or reservoir system. Please help us maintain the natural beauty of the area by being responsible and taking home any litter you may have.

 

There are a multitude of forest trails to explore in the area that can be accessed for hiking and mountain biking excursions too. If you are planning on spending more time in the area to explore there are accommodation options available to suit all budgets including hotels, caravan and camp sites. Feel free to ask us and we can give you some suggestions.
